After the Bach Dang Battle victory led by Ngo Quyen in 938, Vietnam entered an era of flourishment: the era of Dai Viet – Vietnam civilisation. Successive dynasities continuously constructed and reinforced the country’s independence and sovereignty, as well as built the country into a strong, powerful and unified nation. Territorial integrity was preserved and a national culture was developed. A rich heritage was left from this period, both tangible and intangible evidence, ranging from the North to the South. This was the fruit of labour and creation of Vietnamese ethnic communities, as well as of outstanding cultural figures who represent the mind and soul of the nation.
