In 1998 - 1999, the Museum of Vietnamese History (now VNMH) carried out the archaeological studies in the north of Dong Mo Lake (Son Tay, Hanoi). This was to serve for the key project of building The Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, in an area of 547ha.

Field research on architectural ruins of Tran dynasty in Van Lang commune, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province

Through studying about cultural heritages in Yen Bai province, it is known that Hac Y relic (a big scale Buddhist architectural complex built in Tran dynasty, 13th - 14th century) is related closely to a famous person of Tran dynasty, Prince and General Tran Nhat Duat.

Results on the excavation and study of Pu Tre relic (Văn Chấn, Yên Bái)

Following the initial findings on the ancient architectural ruins at Pu Chia Chua hill and Pu Tre hill (Yen Bai province), Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the Decision no. 2408/QĐ - BVHTTDL to allow Yen Bai Museum to study and excavate the Pu Tre relic.

Latest finding on Viet Khe ancient tomb

At the end of September 2013, in order to add more information for the exhibition of Vietnamese Archaeological Treasures to be opened in Germany, (2014 – 2016), a field research has been carried out in Ngoc Khe hamlet, Phu Ninh commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, in which the Viet Khe ancient tomb was found over a half century ago. The research was led by archaeologists from German Archaeology Institute, Vietnam Archaeology Institute and VNMH.

The cobalt blue pattern ceramic jar with swan decoration - an object recognized as Vietnam National Treasure

The cobalt blue pattern ceramic jar with swan decoration belonged to the ceramics in white glazed and cobalt blue pattern type, normally called “cobalt blue pattern ceramics” is now one of Vietnam National Treasure objects preserved in VNMH.

Need to be saved the lacquered wood collection in Thanh Den grave

The Editors: Thanh Den grave was excavated “extinguish fire” on October 10th 2009. There are many burial things in the grave, the wooden objects are the most interested: the coffin in boat shaped, the wooden outside covering of coffin and about 20 lacquered wood works what have cultural, historical values. Hai Phong Museum conserved initially, but still have many problems set up for conservation task, then the former lessons paid a heavy price. .

The mutual inluence Dong Son – Sa Huynh in the archaeological site of Bai Coi (Nghi Xuan – Ha Tinh)

The archaeological site of Bai Coi, belonging to hamlet 9, commune of Xuan Vien, huyen of Nghi Xuan, province of Ha Tinh. This site has been discovered, explored and excavated since the years 70 of the 20 th century. To have more information on the character and the cultural contents of the site as well as to exhume in time the precious vestiges face to the destruction of the site (because of sand exploitation, and because of the search of ancient objects by the popukation… ), from 12/2008 to the end of 1/2009, the National Museum of Vietnamese History, in coordination with the Service of Culture, of Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh, has undertaken the excavation of the site of Bai Coi.
