More opinions about the results of the excavation in Luy Lau relic site in 2014

The ancient Luy Lau relic site located in Thanh Khuong commune, Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province. It was one of the first and largest urban cities in northern Vietnam. It had the largest amount and diversified objects compared to other archaeological sites in the early centuries A.D. Luy Lau was not only the center for politics and economy of the nation but also for culture and religion, especially Buddhism. Thus, studying on Luy Lau is very important for studying Vietnamese history in the first 10 centuries A.D as it helps to reveal about a critical history period that so-called "a period for preparing the conditions for the establishment and development of the later glorious Dai Viet civilization".

Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) began with the reign of king Gia Long, who was the dynasty’s founder, and ended with the reign of king Bao Dai who was the last monarch time of Vietnam. Prior to the Nguyen dynasty, were the nine Nguyen Lords, who deserve credit for extending the territory southwards.

The final furnace of the brown yellow glazed earthenware in Hai Duong province (North Vietnam) died at the end of 14th century but revived by early 16th century in two other places or Phu Lang commune (Bac Ninh province) and Tho Ha commune (Bac Giang).

Mac dynasty (1527-1593) lasted for a short time but leaving impressive records in many aspects: economy, military, education and foreign affairs. Mac dynasty took Confucianism as its official ideology but did not restrict other ones. Thus, Buddhism and Taoism and folk rituals were recovered. Together with the growing up of the architectural buildings, the traditional villages specialized at producing ritual and worshipping items (lamp stand, incense burner...) were developed. The most famous worshipping collection was the grey-blue glazed one of Dang Huyen Thong - a craftsman who is said to be the father of Chu Dau ceramic (Hai Duong village).

By the end of the 14th century, the brown glazed and celadon glazed ceramic lost the market and replaced by the new material and art style of the cobalt blue pattern ceramic. It was said that the cobalt blue pattern ceramic was the third landmark in the development process of the Vietnamese ancient ceramic considering the aspects of the technique and decorative style, preceded by the famous ones, the celadon and the brown ceramic.

Some opinions about the special exhibitions in the Vietnam National Museum of History

In Vietnam or world, museums curators and operators have to implement a comprehensive procedure and methods to meet the demand and taste of the visitors in order to lure them to the museums. The exhibition and the public and education play an important role in connecting the museums and the audiences. In a view of the economy, if we regard the visitors as the "special" customers, we should have to create the "special" products to meet their demands. In particular, the museum's products should have their own language, unique, and special compared to other cultural products in order to attract, orient the habits and demand of the visitors.
