Anniversary of Bac Son revolt (September 27th 1940 – September 27th2012)

72 years ago, in September, 1940, the Communist Party in Bac Son District launched a revolt to gain authority from the French, attack the French stations and armed units and establish the Vietnamese armed force while the French government collapsed after the Japanese invasion in Indochina.

The landmarks in the history of VNMH

The Vietnam National Museum of History was established on 26/9/2011 under the Decision number. 1674/QĐ-TTg issued by Vietnamese Prime Minister, merging the Museum of Vietnamese Revolution and Museum of Vietnamese History.

The Capital Liberation Day (October 10th 1954)

“Five city gates welcome the return of soldiers/ As a blooming flower with five scarlet petals/… What beloved streets of Hanoi!” This is a lyric of the beautiful song “Returning to Hanoi” written as a triumph song by musician Van Cao in 1949. However, it took six years latter of arduous and brave resistance to make the dream of “returning” come true.
