On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, on the morning of March 27th, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH), in collaboration with the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritage Values organized an experiential education program themed " National Unification"

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thị Thu Hoan, Deputy Director of the VNMH; Dr. Le Thi Minh Ly, Vice President of the Cultural Heritage Association; Ms. Nguyen Kim Thanh, Head of the Heritage Education Division. In particular, the program was attended by teachers and students from Trung Vuong Secondary School, Ngo Sy Lien Secondary School, and Nguyen Du Secondary School.

Participating in the program, the students were immersed in the heroic atmosphere of the nation through valuable archival films and engaged in exciting activities, including:
Activity 1: Intellectual Challenge (Touching History): Through the given clues, the teams had to search for, draw and present their impressions of the artifacts displayed at the Museum.
Activity 2: Bright Minds (Word Puzzle Challenge): This game challenges students’ knowledge and quick thinking, as they must solve the riddles about historical figures and events to reveal the secret word.
Activity 3: Physical Challenge (Journey to the Reunification Palace): Students control robots that simulate the process of transporting supplies from the North to the South, towards the liberation of Saigon. The game not only vividly reappears history but also integrates STEM education content (a curriculum designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through an interdisciplinary approach) in schools. Students have the opportunity to apply knowledge of programming, automation control, and logical thinking to complete tasks. This not only allows them to approach history from a traditional perspective but also helps them develop skills in using technology and creativity in learning.

Intellectual and physical games not only help students reinforce historical knowledge in an interesting way but also provide immersive experiences that help them better understand the hardships and struggles of our soldiers and people during the resistance wars. Student Nguyen Bang Sang (Ngo Sy Lien Secondary School) shared: "As a student who loves learning about history, I find today's games so interesting and helpful. It helped us discover many fascinating stories about the reunification of the North and South 50 years ago as well as learn valuable skills, and interact with other students. I would like to express my gratitude to the Museum, the teachers, and all the parties involved for coordinating and organizing this very meaningful program. I hope the Vietnam National Museum of History will continue to promote and organize more meaningful programs like this in the future."

This educational program not only helps students reinforce their historical knowledge but also inspires a sense of national pride and honors the generations of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence and unification of the country. This is a valuable practical educational activity that connects students with the national history through immersive experiences. The organizers hope that through the program, students will increasingly appreciate the national history, and from there, make efforts to study in order to contribute to the development of the country. It is hoped that the program will continue to spread, so that more students can learn history in a lively and meaningful way.
