On the morning of March 27, 2023, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) had a meeting and worked with Dr. Alxeander Kandyba - senior researcher of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences on coordination of archaeological research and exchange of new archaeological findings in Vietnam.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of the VNMH, senior staffs from relevant departments of the Museum and experts from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology.
Dr. Alxeander Kandyba is an expert on non-European archaeology, specializing in Asian prehistoric archaeology, including Vietnam. In this research trip, Dr. Alxeander Kandyba wishes to learn in-depth about the flaketool technology from Nguom site (Than Sa communce, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province) through the collection of the VNMH.
Nguom Rock Shelter is the key site among the Than Sa archaeological complex that located on the slope of Nguom mountain in Kim Son village, Than Sa commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province. The site was ranked as a national relic in 1982 with special attention to many domestic and foreign archaeologists and researchers.
