The thematic exhibition titled “Baekje & Jeju: From Korean Heritage to World Heritage” was launched at the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) on the afternoon of September 16, 2022 to mark the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022). It held by the Baekje World Heritage Center in collaboration with the Vietnam National Museum of History.

Participants of the opening ceremony included Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Pham Dinh Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage; Mr. Gwi Young Lee - Director of the Baekje World Heritage Center; Ms. Rachna Srivastav - First Secretary (Consular) & Acting Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Hanoi; Mr. Philippe Le Failler - Representative of the French School of the Far East in Ha Noi; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Mai Hung - Vice President of Vietnam Association of Historical Science; Historian Duong Trung Quoc –  Secretary-General of Vietnam Association of Historical Science; Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of VNMN, representatives of museums, academic institutes and news agencies in Hanoi.

The exhibition is an opportunity to introduce to the public the outstanding values of the Baekje Historic Area, which symbolizes Baekje’s splendid culture 1,400 years ago, and Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Cave, which show geological characteristics and develop process, were listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007 and 2015.
In the speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan emphasized: “The Vietnam National Museum of History has established long-standing friendly cooperative relationships with Korean partners, such as: the National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Gwangju, National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage, etc. This special exhibition on Korean heritage will further expand the relationship of VNMH and Korea's museums and heritage agencies. It’s one of the activities towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea - showing the efforts of two agencies’ staffs as well as the the attention and support from the authorities of the two countries”.
Visitors will have a chance to experience Virtual Reality technology, as well as enjoy features of Korean culture like traditional clothing, lantern making, and cuisine.

The exhibition is an opportunity to introduce to Vietnamese and international friends the outstanding values of Jeju Volcanic Island, Lava Cave and Baekje Historic Areas as well as the unique features of Korean culture. Moreover, the exhibition contributes to deepening the understanding of the two countries' people for the sustainable development and common prosperity of Vietnam and South Korea in the global cultural community.
The exhibition will be opened to the public until 16 October 2022.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam National Museum of History and Dak Lak Museum, the two museums have coordinated to research and conduct archaeological excavations at Thac Hai relic (Hamlet 6, Ia Jloi commune, Ea Sup district, Dak Lak province), period 2021 - 2023. In addition, the preservation and restoration of archaeological objetcs after excavations for the purpose of propaganda, education and exhibition is also an important content of this agreement.
