On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19th, 1946 - December 19th, 2021), the Vietnam National Museum of History cooperated with the Archives of the Office of the Party Central Committee to carry out the thematic exhibition “Việt Bắc - the Capital of Forest Wind” on December 16th, 2021.

Participants of the opening ceremony included Mr. Bui Van Thach - Deputy Chief of Office of the Party Central Committee; Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Chairman of the National Council of Cultural Heritage; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Van Tru - Chairman of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Mai Hung - Vice President of Vietnam Association of Historical Science; Historian Duong Trung Quoc - Secretary General of Vietnam Association of Historical Science; Mr. Pham Dinh Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage; Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of the Vietnam National Museum of History; Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Director of the Archives of the Office of the Party Central Committee and representatives of museums and news agencies in Hanoi.
The exhibition includes nearly 200 documents, objetcs and photos. Typically, the Handwritten draft of the call on the whole nation to carry out the resistance war by President Ho Chi Minh signed on December 19, 1946, which has been recognised as a national treasure; Statue of President Ho Chi Minh by sculptor Nguyen Thi Kim; Letter from President Ho Chi Minh to painters on the occasion of the 1951 painting exhibition; Letter from Painter To Ngoc Van - Director of Viet Bac University of Fine Arts to President Ho Chi Minh; Letter from General Vo Nguyen Giap asking for new strategy war planning in Dien Bien Phu battlefield on January 30th, 1954.

The objetcs conveyed the messge of the nation’s aspiration for peace and independence, thereby affirming the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as the contributions of people to the resistance war against the French colonialists (1946 -1954).

In the speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan said: “The exhibition reminds people of the brave fight against the French colonists to gain independence and enhance people’s belief in the guidelines of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as encourage people to unite to overcome all challenges in the renewal process and successfully implement the 13th National Party Congress Resolution”.
