On the occasion of the Lunar New Year - Spring of Tan Suu Year (Year of Buffalo) 2021, on behalf of Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH), I would like to send to all employees and their families and the collaborators, readers the best wishes for New Year. I wish the Vietnam National Museum of History continues to grow day by day!

By 2020, with the attention of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the effective coordination of relevant agencies, domestic and international units, organizations and individuals…, the VNMH’s Board of Directors and all Party’s members, employees have effort and joined forces to overcame all difficulties caused by the COVID-19 diseaseand has successfully completed plans of work.

The year of 2021 is the year of the 13th National Congress of Vietnam Communist Party and many other important events in Vietnam. Promoting these achievements, on the eve of the new year 2021, I believe and hope that, the Vietnam National Museum of History still will be a unite, bring strength, wisdom and enthusiasm to complete excellently all tasks.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.

With the consent of the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Museum of History signed a Memorandum of Understanding (period of 2020 - 2025) with the National Research Institue of Maritime Cultural Heritage of Korea.

With the aim of enhancing the preservation of marine cultural heritage of both countries; strengthening and expanding mutual understanding through the cooperation of research, professional training and human resource exchange, for more than 10 years, the Vietnam National Museum of History has cooperated with the National Research Institue of Maritime Cultural Heritage of Korea to carry out projects in the fields of surveying the Vietnam’s ancient trading port system, archeology, preserving of marine cultural heritages, researching of trading history on the sea of Vietnam and Korea in particular and East Asian countries in general. In particular, the research project on Vietnam's ancient trading port system has been jointly carried out annually and obtained many good results, at the same time enhancing the professional experience for staffs in preservation and promotion of marine cultural heritages of the two countries Vietnam and Korea.
