At the invitation of VNMH’s Director, on June 21, 29018, the National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage headed by Mr Sim Young Seop- Head of Underwarter Archaeological Division visited and worked with the VNMH.

Receiving and working, on the side of VNMH, were Dr. Nguyễn Văn Đoàn- VNMH’s Deputy Director and managers of professional departments.

In the spirit of cooperation and friendship between two traditional partners, the both sides discussed the professional issues that have cooperated and achieved great results in the past 10 years. In particular, the NRIMCH will support the VNMH on excavation of ancient shipwreck in Dung Quat (Quang Ngai) in the future: To send specialists to participate in excavation, to send experts to consult the conservation, provide equipments and materials for underwater archeological excavation.

Through the meeting, the both sides believe in the future achievements in the fields of cooperation, research and on the maritime cultural heritage of Vietnam.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.
