During the Nguyen dynasty, economy developed in all areas including agriculture, handicraft, commerce, etc., but the mainstream economic sector was still agriculture. It is manifested through the collection of measuring tools of the Nguyen dynasty, which is very diverse, including weights, rulers of different materials including bronze, mother-of-pearl and carved wood and with different measurement units. The bell shows that the regulation of measurement units was governed clearly and carefully. This is evidence that Vietnam in the Nguyen dynasty had contact with and began to integrate with the world economy.
