This was one of the typical tools used while searching for food by prehistoric people in the Old Stone Age. The axe is well-proportioned, and roughly flaked and hewed on both sides. Though simply manufactured, this tool reflects a turning in the life of prehistoric inhabitants when they gradually moved from living in trees to living on the ground.
