Spindle whorls were found in many Phung Nguyen archaeological sites. They were used to spin hemp thread. The whorls were round in shape, with a hole in the middle. Some whorls have etchings created while using. Spindle whorls shows the creativity of the Phung Nguyen people in thread spinning technique, weaving and costume making.
